Kick Off Meeting
On Thursday, January 10th, we had our annual Kickoff Meeting at Four Points – Sheridan in Bentonville. We started the morning off with an optional free breakfast and began the meeting with special guest introductions.
Each member of our Executive Team spoke on our 2018 accomplishments as well as our goals for 2019. Val Hughey was announced as our Q4 Sandy Award recipient, and Mike Comely was the overall 2018 Sandy Award Winner.
We also had some laughs as Devin Tuggle and Beau Brosius brought back our Weekend Update
skit modeled after Saturday Night Live.
Trade Shows
January is always a huge month for trade shows, especially in the promotional products industry.
Our salesmen and other representatives from OC were at each of the following shows this month:
PPAI Gold Pyramid Award
The 61st annual Pyramid Award Competition was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in conjunction with the Promotional Product Association International (PPAI) Expo in Las Vegas.
Since 1958, the PPAI Pyramid Awards have recognized and honored promotional products businesses and helped shine the spotlight on the collaborative business model unique to the industry.
On Tuesday, January 16th, we proudly accepted our second Gold Pyramid Award in a row. Last year, we were presented the Gold Pyramid Award in Technology for our blog resource, Hatswork.com.
This year, we were awarded the Gold Pyramid
Award in the Supplier Decorating category for our product development and launch of
One
Touch Caps.
Employee Emergency Fundraiser
The Employee Emergency (EE) Fund hosted a brownie and ice cream sale on Friday, January 11th, benefiting one of our OC team members whose infant son has been in the hospital for an extended period of time.
Shower for the Brosius Twins
On Thursday, January 17th from 11:00 to 12:00, we held a diaper shower for Beau Brosius whose wife is expecting twin boys in February: Bear and Brooks.
Saving Grace
On the morning of Friday, January 18th, four representatives from OC put in a few volunteer hours at the Saving Grace offices.

STICK WITH IT!
On January 19th and 20th, Tatum Fredeen and Dan Snow attended the Sand Storm
Lacrosse Festival in Palm Springs, California to represent JUNK Brands. They gave out headbands to the STICK WITH IT!
team and took tons of great photos of the girls in action.
Employment

Promotions
We’re always working to help our team members grow in their current positions as well as advance to new roles and take on additional responsibilities. We’re proud to say ten employees received promotions in January.

Will has accepted the position of Customer Success Knowledge Supervisor.
Cody Crismon
Cody has transitioned to the role of Supervisor in-Training on the Embroidery team.
Nick Finch
Nick has now taken on the job of Patch Lead in our Domestic Patch department.
Courtenay Gillett
Courtenay has taken on the role of Project Lead in the Product Development department.
Ron Humble
Ron has joined the Customer Care team as a Knowledge Lead.
Hannah Keys
Hannah has joined the JUNK team as the Fulfilment and Inventory Manager.
Lacy Langston
Lacy has accepted the position of Domestic Knowledge Lead.
Oumanthara Nanthavong
Oumanthara has taken on the job of Patch Machine Operator in our Domestic Patch department.
Randa Overstreet
Randa joins us at a Financial Accountant on the Accounting team.
Carine Palmer
Carine has been promoted to be our new Sourcing Supervisor.
