2022 was a great year for Outdoor Cap. We had a lot of changes, spent a lot of time together, and were able to help our community and each other. We look forward to everything coming in 2023.
Here’s a recap of our year.
Trade show bonanza for Outdoor Cap! We attended ASI Orlando, ABCA, PPAI, Shot Show, ISS Long Beach, PGA Merch Show, and Mid States Winter Rendezvous. We also announced the promotion of Jeanelle Harris to President of Outdoor Cap Company!
In February, we attended the ASI Fort Worth Promo trade show, Sports Inc. Outdoor Sporting Goods Show, and NBS Spring Retail Show.
In March, we launched Headwear 101! A brief education course educating our customers and brush our employees up on everything that goes into a great cap. We also attended the Impressions trade show in Atlantic City. We celebrated women’s month and participated in the street cleanup.
In April, we celebrated Earth Day with another street cleanup and an interview with the Sustainability Task Force.
During the month of May, Outdoor Cap was also a sponsor at the 2022 Sunshine Gala, which supports the Sunshine School & Development Center in Rogers, Arkansas. Outdoor Cap also participated in and sponsored the Heather Ridley Fleeman Battle for Hope Race. We attended the Promotional Products Work Expo. JUNK also got to move into their new building!
In June, we hosted our company picnic and attended the Saving Grace Butterflies & Blooms Luncheon to help the non-profit provide young women with safe housing and resources. Trade shows included the NBS Summer Athletic Market and Sports Inc. Team Dealers show.
July was full of opportunities. OC employees could volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, a construction and demolition project, we also participated in United Way’s Fill the Bus school supply drive. We attended the ASI Chicago trade show, Tractor Supply Annual Partner Show, and ICAST.
We were also awarded ASI Counselor Top 40 Supplier!
In August, we held Outdoor Cap’s Leadercast. An event for the leaders to gather, get inspired and hear keynotes about grit, trust, drive, fun, and more. Employees were also encouraged to participate in the Outdoor Cap Campus Tours, which toured all facilities and got information on each department. It was also a big month for trade shows, including Sports Inc. Outdoor Sporting Goods Show, Mid-States 2022 Fall Show, the NBS Fall Semi-Annual Market, and the virtual event PromoLive.
We welcomed Fall this year with a Fall Family Outing, a meeting for employees to talk to the Corporate Citizenship & Culture Committee, attending a career fair at the University of Arkansas, and attending a trade show ISS Fort Worth.
October was filled with a few events. The month started off with Customer Service Week, celebrating and encouraging customer service. We participated in the fundraiser Kickball 4 the Kids event, and then ended the month with Halloweenville festivities with costumes and decorated departments, and employees’ kids were invited to trick or treat Outdoor Cap and JUNK.
Notable events included two OC Sports trade shows, a successful EE Fund cap sale, and a launch of a recruiting commercial on our local FOX Affiliate channel.
We were also all in on the Salvation Army Magical Toy Drive this year, with our lobbies hosting public drop-offs, a shopping spree, and joining the title sponsors to help make kids’ holidays just a little brighter.
December was a Par-Tee. Each department built mini-golf holes, everyone could participate for the week. For each hole we played, we got an extra ticket for the raffle at the Christmas party. We held our Christmas party, where we gathered to play games, enter for prizes, and eat delicious food. Our team also participated in the final street cleanup of the year.
