OC News: November 2017

OC Food Fight

From October 30th to November 10th, OC held our first annual Food Fight benefitting the NWA Food Bank. We were split into teams by departments.

We collected 1,233 canned and dry goods to donate. The Marketing, Product Development, and Production team collected 500 pieces, making them the winners.

On Friday, November 17th, we had our annual internal hat sale benefiting the Employee Emergency (EE) Fund. Employees were able to browse our inventory of discontinued blank caps and samples and make purchases for a discounted price.

The EE Fund is money we raise internally to set aside for employees in need to help them financially during a difficult time in their lives.

Sharing and Caring Sale

Each year, we adopt 35 children (ages 18 months to 16 years) from the Benton County Sharing and Caring program, which provides Christmas gifts for children in need.

OC employees select children based off of age, gender, and wish list, and spend approximately $100 per child. On December 1st, we will deliver all of the gifts to the Benton County Fairgrounds.

On Friday, November 17th, we held a Bake Sale and Craft Fair with the hopes of adopting ten children. Between this sale and the one held in October, we exceeded our goal of $1,000. Salvation-Army.jpg

Headwear for the Homeless

Each year, we donate knits and beanies to local groups that distribute them to homeless individuals and families. We’ve donated to this cause for seven years.

This year we donated over 2,600 cold-weather caps to three NWA organizations. To learn how you can help any of these non-profits, click the links below.

Employment

With locations in Arkansas, California, and Texas, we currently employ 363 people, but that number is always changing. Check out all of our employment updates for the month including promotions, new hires, and even open positions.

We would also like to congratulate Pam Childers on her retirement.
