Each month we’ll be bringing you OC News, so you can stay up to date on what is going on with our business, our company, and our community.

Sharing & Caring Bake Sale

Each year, we adopt 35 children from Sharing & Caring, which is an organization that works to brighten the holiday season for local children. They do this by lending a helping hand to families in need during the holidays.

OC employees select children based off of age, gender, and wish list, and spend approximately $100 per child. On December 5th, we will deliver all of the gifts to the Benton County Fairgrounds.

On November 4th, we held our second annual internal Bake Sale to raise money for Sharing & Caring. Thanks to our generous team members, we were able to adopt 8 children with money from the Bake Sale.

Goodwill Job Fair

On Wednesday, November 9th, the Goodwill Career Center in Rogers, Arkansas hosted a hiring event in hopes of bringing together area businesses and potential candidates.

Representatives from Outdoor Cap’s Human Resources department attended the job fair in the hopes of fulfilling open positions. Onsite interviews were conducted with candidates who were interested in joining the OC family.

United Way Campaign

Our United Way campaign kicked off on October 21st and ran through November 11th. We raised over $10,000. Over 90 employees pledged contributions in the form of paycheck deductions. Team members who donated were entered into a drawing for gift baskets, gift cards, and a paid day off work.

Feed the Funnel

The Pack Shack is a local non-profit that prepares packaged meals and distributes them to communities with food insecure households. Food insecurity is defined as the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food.

We hosted a Feed the Funnel Party on the morning of Thursday, November 17th. We had 3, 30-minute shifts so everyone who wanted to participate had the opportunity. Our goal was 20,000 meals in an hour and a half; with 150 volunteers, we surpassed that with a final count of 20,160 meals.
