OC News: March 2018

Daughters at the Range

The seventh annual Daughters at the Range even is scheduled for June 9, 2018. Once again, Outdoor Cap is a proud sponsor, and we donated caps for participants and their families.

Daughters at the Range is an event inspired by National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day, in which girls ages six to eighteen are taught gun safety and shooting techniques.

NWA Children’s Shelter Donations

Our Corporate Citizenship Committee is responsible for selecting charities and events in the community for OC to partner with. They budget donation spending, organize volunteer groups, and so much more.

For 2018, they decided to select a cause each quarter and collect donations. For Q1, they chose the NWA Children’s Shelter. OC employees have been collecting non-perishable food items, clothes, and other essentials which the committee will drop off at the shelter in early April.

Workplace Literacy Program

Starting in 2011, we developed and funded a workplace literacy program for the factory workers. Our 5th class recently graduated; 22 students successfully completed the program.

In each 9-month cycle, there are 25 students who attend 2 hours per day, 6 days per week. They learn to read and write in their local language as well as mathematics.

We’re proud to announce the next group of students, our 6th class, began courses in early March.Busniess DevKit_ 3 industries 72dpi-1
